Welcome to the new ongoing home for StuPC!
If you’ve just arrived, shell-shocked and shaken, from the now spookily quiet old site, then welcome! Thank you for making the jump with me! I know this all seems terribly sudden and not really cricket, old boy, eh, what, and, truth be told, it has been very sudden, but it’s something I’ve been contemplating for a couple of years.
It’s still a sad day for me, in that I do feel somewhat as though I’m admitting defeat in upping sticks so drastically and effectively abandoning the old stupc.co.uk domain.
But the truth is, maintaining an entire website purely so that I can blog on it roughly twice a week was actually rather irrational, since even adding a post as simple as, “I’m still alive!” would take 10-15 minutes once I’d fired up the HTML editor, moved the previous entry, updated the RSS, changed and fomatted the date, and uploaded the new stuff to my domain – not to mention checking the finished page online and fixing the inevitable errors.
The original (ntbcw) The Truth wasn’t a blog – far from it – but time restraints and small children other forces have conspired to transmute it into a blog more than anything else, so I’m going to try an experiment now: I’m going to move all the blog elements into the hands of the lovely folks here at WordPress, where I’ll be able to post new stuff in seconds rather than minutes; where photos can be posted in glorious Technicolor rather than tantalisingly hinted at in Flickr links; videos might even make an appearance occasionally! Add to that the ability to add your Comments to the things I say here and we should be in for a rare old time!
Anyway, that’s the promise of WordPress: more updates, more often, with more colours.
The old site will stay up; it’s actually rather precious to me, containing, as it does, so many memories and otherwise lost experiences and feelings. I’m hoping to keep those for Millie and Amber to see when they grow up, so hopefully there will always be something to see at stupc.co.uk (and book reviews will almost certainly still pop up there on occasion).
So don’t delete it from your bookmarks (or your Favourites, or whatever you call them) just yet, but DO add this site ( http://stupc.wordpress.com ) as your all-new first port of call for all things StuPC, and let’s see how things go, eh?
As Bucks Fizz once said…mamba seyra! (no, I have no idea what it means, it was part of their song ‘New Beginning’)

Gaaah! I just wrote stuff on here. It was funny and apt and particularly good. Then I didn’t fill in my email and website and it lost it all. Here is what I said:
- you’ve moved!
- I didn’t know!
- You linked my site!
- I might move!
