Millie had an ‘accident’ last night for the first time in ages (translation for non-parents – she wet the bed) which, in tandem with something else that happened yesterday morning, has given me a theory about the source of the damp spot I mentioned.

Yesterday morning I was having a shave in the bathroom when somebody tried to open the door.  And failed.

Opening the door I found a wall-eyed Millie swaying on her feet outside.  She managed to have a wee on the toilet then nearly fell off; nearly managed to wash her hands in the sink before falling off her step; nearly walked into the door frame then nearly fell over outside.

My conclusion, Watson, was that Millie wasn’t really awake.

Which leads to my next conclusion.

Given that the damp spot in Millie’s room is just in front of her bedroom door I hypothesise that she’s been getting up in the night to go to the toilet, but has only made it to the door before the call of nature has been prematurely answered, leading to a continually damp spot on the floor.
