We’re back off holiday – and it was one of the loveliest holidays I can remember being on for ages. :-)

I almost wish I’d taken my work laptop away with me so I could have blogged about events as they happened…but there would have been no internet connection to add posts as the sim card in my 3G-enabled mobile elected to break down within minutes of arriving on the Dorset coast.  Consequently I was entirely offline for six whole days, and glad I decided not to take the laptop.

Yours truly went swimming in the sea on three separate occasions; Millie seemed to be naked more often than she was clothed; the eBub learned how to play by herself if necessary; and the Lovely Melanie, sadly, was only once spotted in her swimming costume.  We went to the Isle Of Wight on the ferry, around the coast on a land train, met fortuitously with friends and family, ate, drank and were merry, and still came back feeling rested and relaxedsomething I wasn’t expecting given that there were equal numbers of adults and children locked in caravans together.

It was a pleasure to be away with our girls, not the grind I’d occasionally dreaded it might be, so not only are we relaxed we’re also very proud of our two girls. :-)

It’s safe to say that we all heartily recommend Hoburne Naish as a holiday destination for anyone with children: they provided just the right level of child and adult entertainment for a decent price, and were neither too pushy nor too uninterested in our welfare throughout.  If you wanted entertaining they would put on some entertainment (and did an especially good job for Millie and our friends’ little boy, Jack, who are both the same age – not so much for the grown-ups, who were left feeling a bit uncomfortable by the one comedian we saw, with his occasional appeals to “Little Englander” nationalism).

There are millions of pictures online, and that’s still only about 20% of the ones we kept – let alone the number we actually took!
