Why, yes, it is my birthday – thank you for asking!

And I couldn’t agree more, the chicken cake the Lovely Melanie has made me is rather wonderful.

I was awoken this morning by two whispering children outside my bedroom door asking if they could come in; they then gave me a delightful rendition of Happy Birthday To You.  It was completely unexpected so I gave them both a big hug and a kiss to say thank you, before being hustled downstairs to open my cards and present.

Now I’ve got the day off work, the house to myself and some delicious food in the fridge.  It looks like being a good day.
