There will be photos to follow of the smashing weekend we had with my brother, Rich, his wife, Carla, and their two-year-old daughter, Izzy.
They don’t get to come and visit terribly often, but it’s always a pleasure when they do, and this weekend was no exception. We went for a walk in the woods, to the swings and to the shops; we had a delicious home-cooked meal (courtesy of the Lovely Melanie) then drank and chatted for hours.
But mostly we watched Izzy, Millie and Amber playing together, which was lovely to see. Millie was, as always, very affectionate and gentle with her cousin, but even Amber started to get the idea eventually, and they all had a whale of a time together. Izzy was surrounded by chickens at one point, which she didn’t like and will probably be her enduring memory of her visit, but never mind.
I hope we can do it again soon. More photos to follow just as soon as I can sort them out…
They also brought with them a painting by my Dad, a Christmas scene that he painted for Millie, complete with glitter and properly framed. Millie was absolutely delighted with it (as were the Lovely Melanie and I) and it’s now hanging on her bedroom wall.
Thank you, Dad. 🙂
