Back in November, the girls and I went on a Save Lewisham Hospital march. Lewisham, where Millie was born, was threatened with severe cuts – even closure – by a government that hates everything it stands for and is determined to destroy and privatise all UK healthcare.
Well, yesterday there was some really good news: a high court judge declared Lewisham was a great hospital and the Health Secretary’s plans to destroy it were unlawful!
As well as our support, the hospital was fortunate to have that of patients, community groups, GPs, hospital doctors, nurses and other health professionals – all convinced that the government’s decision was driven by a desire to marginalise the NHS and privatise UK healthcare.
And when a high court judge agrees with you, well, there’s not a lot more you can ask for!
Welcome back from the brink, Lewisham Hospital!
