Nice try, Millie

Millie's apology poem
A lovely poem by Millie

What a lovely poem Millie wrote to the Lovely Melanie on Tuesday, and using her favourite literary technique of simile, too.

What mother’s heart would not be softened by such heart-felt and beautiful words?

Who could remain unmoved by such an unsolicited outpouring of love?

What sort of angelic Christ-child do we have in our midst, you must be asking?

Surely not the kind who had had an APOCALYPTIC BENNY the night before?  Not one who had wished her mother dead?  Who had thrown and broken toys and trashed her bedroom?

Surely, you might ask, these words of joy and love would not – could not! – have been penned solely in order to suck up to a parent…?

Hmm.
